Brewing news Russia: Efes Breweries International NV announced minority buy out in Moscow Efes Brewery completed

In reference to the Share Purchase Agreement announced earlier, Efes Breweries International N.V. (“EBI” or “the Company”) announced November 08 that it has completed the acquisition of the 7.5% shares of EL&EL Limited (“EL&EL”) in Moscow Efes Brewery (“MEB”), EBI’s operating subsidiary in the Russian Federation.

As a result of the transaction, the effective ownership of EBI in MEB has increased from 83.4% to 90.9%.

About EBI

EBI has a strong presence in the countries in which it operates, across the CIS, Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Currently EBI operates in Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Serbia where the Company has ten breweries with a total annual brewing capacity of 23.0 million hectolitres as well as four malteries with 139,000 tons annual capacity.

The Company, established in the Netherlands, completed a successful listing of GDRs on the London Stock Exchange in October 2004 and currently is a publicly traded company.
